The brief for this project came from the Design Futures course during my Undergraduate Program at Emily Carr University. Preceding the draft submissions, a class-wide thematic analysis was conducted with material from student publications of the 2019 Perspectives Program. These works contained stories from real people living in long-term care homes, the result; design & illustration as a mode of story sharing, from these relational bonds.
The key words derived from this analysis served as the unifying foundation of the individual posters. They echo voices, experiences of those in the same long-term care facility & return back to the community after a period of isolation [from Covid].
Final deliverable was a [50cm x 70cm] press quality poster. By the end of the semester, these were printed & sent to the Purdy Pavilion Care Home, where our original stories were "born", in Vancouver, BC.
