my name is kalina lashkova

I am a designer, artist, & researcher based in Montréal/Tiohtià:ke.

Currently, I am the Laser Engraving Coordinator at Atelier Circulaire & Graphic Designer for Scatterbrain Magazine. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Emily Carr University, where I specialized in Communication Design & Illustration. Also, where I grounded my multidisciplinary practice.

I am particularly interested in the translation of language to image, the bounds of deconstruction without losing meaning. Graphic design first developed as a technical skill, utilized with intention. I focus on the details that define identity & inform relative patterns.

Recent works faciliate a dialogue between my Bulgarian origin and Canadian upbringing, expressed through the language & material of sentimental objects.

Otherwise, I am probably collecting breadclips & clovers [with fixations subject to change]. Take care!
